Siem Reap to Resume Regular Flights from China at the End of March

SIEM REAP: Flights from Kunming and Shanghai to Siem Reap, operated by China Eastern Airlines, are set to resume in mid-February, while all regular flight routes from China will once again begin operations from the end of March.

From 16-17 February, Siem Reap will see flights from Kunming and Shanghai arrive, while from the end of March onwards, regular flights from China will resume, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

The Tourism Ministry also intends to organize a proper reception for Chinese tourists arriving in the middle of February, similar to the reception given to Chinese tourists arriving in Sihanoukville last month, following the reopening of China’s borders.

According to a report from the Ministry of Tourism, Siem Reap currently sees between 16-19 flights per day carrying a total of 1,800 to 1,900 visitors, along with at least 2,000 people buying tickets to visit Angkor Wat per day as well. At present, most of the visitors to Siem Reap are from the Republic of Korea, arriving in daily flights operated by Sky Angkor Airlines.

It should be noted that Sihanoukville received its first flight from China on the morning of 27 January 2023, carrying 104 passengers and six flight crew.
